Abundant Life

Kobe Bryant is a legend in the game of basketball. His accomplishments will be forever linked when he is accepted into the Hall of Fame. He influenced millions and his legacy will continue to influence for years to come. Young kids seen him as a mentor. Others would visualize themselves being like him. He was known as a legend to many, but to his kids he was known as dad. To his wife he was known as husband. 

One of Kobe’s quotes was, I’ll do whatever it takes to win games, whether it’s sitting on a bench waving a towel, handing a cup of water to a teammate, or hitting the game-winning shot. In life we should live the same way. Every day is a day to praise God. Every day is a day to serve. If I am on the bench, I am praising God. If I am in the game let me take the shot. I am not here for second place. I am here to win. If I am on defense. I am for others taking there shot and winning in their game. 

Life can be fleeting. Time flies. Scripture says life is but a vapor. James 4:14, For you are a mist that appears for a little time and then vanishes. It is not the quantity of life that matters. It is the quality of life. It is not about how many breaths you take. It is about the ones that take your breath away. Never let the fear of striking out keep you from playing the game. Sing like no one is listening, love like you’ve never been hurt, dance like nobody’s watching, and live like it’s heaven on earth. You only live once, but if you do it right once is enough. On a tombstone there are two dates, and what really matters is the dash in the middle. What are you doing with your life? Live for Jesus. Live on purpose. Live with grace. Quick to forgive. Quick to love. Quick to give. 

When you were born, you were crying while everyone around you was smiling. Live your life in such a way that when you die, your smiling while everyone else is crying
